Questions

The things people actually ask

Written from real emails rather than guessed at. Where a full page already answers something properly, this sends you there instead of repeating half of it.

Before you buy

Does it come with the vase or container in the photograph?

Sometimes. Some pieces include their container and some are the stems only, so every product page states which. If a vase, pot or basket is not listed as included, it is not in the box — it is there to show you the scale.

How do I know what size I am getting?

Every product page carries the height and width in centimetres and inches. Where a piece comes in more than one size or colourway, tap the option you want and the measurements for that particular one appear underneath it.

If you are not sure how that translates to your vase or your shelf, the size guide gives you the three measurements to take and the ratio that works.

Can I cut the stems shorter?

Yes. Use floristry cutters or wire cutters rather than scissors, and cut a little at a time — the stem holds whatever length you leave it at, but you cannot put it back.

If I order the same colour again next year, will it match?

Better than most places can offer, because everything here comes from one workshop and I have not changed it. A shop buying from a dozen suppliers cannot tell you where next year’s burgundy will come from. I can. What I will not do is promise a perfect match forever — dye batches move slightly over long periods, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing.

Do they smell of anything?

A newly opened box can smell faintly of packaging for a day or two. Take the stems out, leave them in the room, and it goes. They are not scented and are not meant to be.

Can I use them outdoors?

I would not. Direct, prolonged sunlight takes the colour out of anything, and these are not made to sit in water or in rain. A covered porch is fine. An exposed table in July is not.

Delivery and tracking

Why does my tracking show nothing for the first few days?

Because the tracking number is created when the parcel reaches the courier, and the leg before that — inside China, on its way from the workshop — does not appear on it. So for the first few days after you order, the tracking page will be empty or will say very little.

This is normal and it is the single most common email I get. Nothing has gone wrong, and the 7–12 working days are counted from your order either way, not from the first scan.

How long will it take?

7–12 working days from the order to your door. That is the whole journey, not the part after dispatch. The delivery page sets out the rest.

Will I be charged anything when it arrives?

No extra payment should be due when your parcel arrives. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. If a courier ever asks you for money on delivery, send me the receipt — that is my responsibility, and I will refund the charge.

What if my country is not listed?

Choose the nearest available country or region in the selector. The site will then show the closest applicable delivery charge and terms. If you are not sure which one to use, write to me before ordering.

Paying

What can I pay with?

PayPal, debit and credit cards, Google Pay, and, where available, local payment methods supported by PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to pay by card — just choose the card option at checkout.

Do I need a PayPal account to pay by card?

No. Choose the card option at checkout and you can pay with your debit or credit card through PayPal without creating or using a PayPal account.

Where do I choose my language and currency?

On desktop, the language and currency controls sit in the top-right corner. On mobile, tap the language and region control in the top bar. Choose the country or region you are shopping from and the site will show the relevant currency, delivery charge and terms. If your country is not listed, choose the nearest available country and use the information shown there.

If something goes wrong

It arrived damaged.

Send me a photograph within thirty days and you get a replacement or a refund, whichever you would rather have. Nothing has to be posted back to China. The full terms are on the returns page.

I have changed my mind.

You have fourteen days from delivery to tell me. For UK orders below £50, or US orders below $70, you can keep the piece and take 55% back rather than post anything; above that it needs to come back. Both routes, and what each one refunds, are on the returns page.

It looks squashed out of the box.

Stems and foliage travel compressed so nothing snaps in transit. Ease each one out from the centre, bend the branches back to where you want them and give the petals a few minutes. If it still looks wrong after that, it is wrong — send a photograph.

My parcel has not arrived at all.

If nothing has moved for a week, or you are past twelve working days, email me and I will chase it. If it is genuinely lost you get a replacement or your money back, your choice, and I do not need you to prove anything first.

Weddings and larger orders

How far ahead should I order for a wedding?

Buy in March for a July wedding — around four months is comfortable. The point of ordering faux this early is that nothing spoils in the meantime, which is the one thing real flowers cannot offer you.

Will five bridesmaid bouquets actually match?

Yes, if they are ordered together. They are made in batches, so five ordered at once are five of the same thing rather than five attempts at the same thing. Ordering them months apart is where matching gets difficult, so order the whole party in one go.

Can I order a large quantity of one thing?

Ask me. I am not set up for trade orders yet and I would rather say so than take one I cannot fill on time. Tell me roughly when you need it and how many, and I will give you a straight answer.

Not here?

Write to hello@lifelikebloom.com. There is no queue and no ticket number — it reaches me, and awkward questions are welcome. If a description oversells something or a photograph flatters a stem more than it should, I would rather hear it than not.
